Service Technician at Burgården Gymnasium

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

At Burgården, we educate for reality, and just like in reality, our school is a bustling world, with many directions, people, and meetings. We offer vocational programs, university preparatory programs, and introductory programs. We are a multicultural school with 1400 students from all districts and surrounding municipalities. Here, future hairdressers and fashion designers move alongside support assistants, nursing assistants, social scientists, childcare workers, natural scientists, and animal caretakers. The service organization at Burgården Gymnasium is responsible for premises and property issues, inventory, cleaning, and maintenance. We are now looking for a qualified service technician to join our service organization. The service organization is an internal service and support function for the school and is responsible for providing good service as well as maintaining high quality. Our work makes a difference, and we are looking for someone who wants to influence so that students and staff have the best possible learning and working environment.

In your role as a service technician, you will work in a varied learning environment characterized by high engagement. Here, everyone makes a difference both on an individual and group level. The students you meet are of upper secondary school age, and for these young people, with different backgrounds and future dreams, you are particularly important as an adult role model.

QUALIFICATIONS

As a service technician at Burgården Gymnasium, you will have a free work environment where you are expected to have an eye for what needs to be done. The role includes, among other things:

  • Systematic fire safety work and evacuation drills
  • Participate in the school's environmental certification work
  • Supervision of premises and furnishings
  • Maintenance and minor repairs of AV equipment (projectors, etc.), furniture, and other furnishings
  • Supervision and reporting of copying machines
  • Management of student lockers
  • Collaboration with Intraservice and IT service
  • Contact with property owners, suppliers, contractors
  • Access and key management
  • Other tasks such as recycling and mail handling
  • Regular janitorial duties

We are looking for someone who has at least upper secondary education and post-secondary or other advanced training equivalent to 6 months - 1 year. You have worked as a service technician for a few years and have solid knowledge in the field. If you have also worked as a janitor or service technician in a school or similar environment, we consider that an advantage. Documented experience in trades is also seen as an advantage. A driver's license (B) is required.

As a person, you are structured and meticulous and have the ability to overview and create a comprehensive picture of your work. Furthermore, you are proactive and flexible and have a good eye for what needs to be done. You work well independently but also enjoy collaborating with your colleagues. In your daily work, you will meet many different people, which requires your communication skills.

In the role of service technician at Burgården, we hope you are service-oriented and enjoy working in a school environment with close contact with students. You also need to have a positive attitude, be solution-oriented, and not have difficulty meeting the people you come into contact with in your work.

You speak and write Swedish fluently and have no problem handling computers.
